Acting for Camera
Acting for Camera helps students build confidence, focus, imagination, and real on-camera performance skills.
Students work with scripts, commercials, scene work, green screen, camera marks, eyelines, direction, and playback feedback in a real studio environment. This is a hands-on acting class. Students do not just talk about acting — they get up, perform, adjust, try again, and learn how to work in front of a camera.
Students under age 7 require instructor approval and must be able to read independently.

FALL 2026 ACTING FOR CAMERA CLASS OPTIONS
Acting for Camera is offered in different class options based on age, experience, maturity, and readiness.
Some students are new to acting and need a beginner class. Some students already have experience and are ready for stronger scene work, more detailed direction, and more demanding camera exercises.
Parents may request the class that seems like the best fit. Final placement may be adjusted by Christopher Healy based on the student’s age, reading ability, confidence, experience, focus, and readiness for the group.
Parent Viewing Area
Parents are always welcome to stay and view classes during their child’s session.
Thornhill Acting Studio has a parent viewing area where parents may sit back, relax, enjoy a coffee, and quietly watch the class while it is taking place.
We ask that parents remain quiet during class time so students can stay focused, participate fully, and enjoy the training experience.

Thursday Acting for Camera
Thursday, September 10 — 5:00–6:00 PM
Ages: 7–12
Tuition: $ tax included / Returning students may be eligible for 10% off tuition.

Best for: students who want a structured Acting for Camera class with camera basics, scene work, confidence, focus, and performance training.

Saturday Beginner Acting for Camera
Saturday, September 12 — 12:00–1:00 PM
Ages: 7–10
Tuition: $ tax included / Returning students may be eligible for 10% off tuition.
Length: 11 weeks
Best for: younger or newer students who are beginning acting, camera work, simple scripts, marks, eyelines, and confidence on camera.
Students must be able to read independently, follow instructions, understand basic scene work, and participate safely in a small studio setting.
A mature 6-year-old may be considered if they can read independently, understand instructions, stay focused, and handle the structure of an acting class.

Sunday Acting for Camera — Intermediate
Sunday, September 13 — 1:00–2:00 PM
Ages: 9–13
Tuition: $ tax included / Returning students may be eligible for 10% off tuition.
Length: 11 weeks
Best for: students with some acting experience who are ready for stronger scene work, partner scenes, camera technique, more direction, and more challenging performance exercises.
Prior acting experience or instructor approval may be required.

Sunday, September 13 — 2:00–3:00 PM
Ages: 11–15
Tuition: $ tax included / Returning students may be eligible for 10% off tuition.

Best for: older or more experienced students who are ready for longer scenes, stronger character work, audition-style material, emotional truth, camera discipline, and more advanced performance coaching.
Prior acting experience and instructor approval may be required.

Classes are generally designed for ages 7–12, with some groups available for older students depending on age, level, and class fit.

The Full Acting for Camera for Camera Training Pathway
This Fall 2026 Acting for Camera class is also part of a larger training pathway at Thornhill Acting Studio for students who want to continue developing from term to term.
Students who continue through the Acting for Camera program build toward a broader acting curriculum that includes on-camera acting, TV commercials, scene work, comedy and drama scenes, green screen performance, voice work, audition preparation, monologues, and agent-readiness skills.
Acting for Camera is also a dual-purpose learning program. Students develop acting and camera skills while also building confidence, focus, leadership, responsibility, teamwork, creative thinking, and the discipline of being prepared, on time, and ready to work.
This larger program is designed for students who want to go beyond a single term and continue developing as young actors over time.
Students who continue into advanced training may also prepare monologues, audition material, and agent-readiness skills where appropriate.

Free Trial
A free trial class may be available for new students, space permitting.
If the student does not continue after the trial class, there is no charge for that class.
If the student continues, the trial class counts as Class 1 and is included in the full course tuition.
