Registration Notes

Registration is subject to class availability, student age, program requirements, and instructor approval where applicable.

Some programs are open to beginners, while others require previous experience or approval before registration.

Advanced programs such as Debate Club Season 2 or Million Dollar Youth Season 2 may require prior training, completed prerequisite classes, or equivalent experience.

A free trial class may be available for new students, space permitting.

If the student continues after the trial, the trial class will be counted as the first class of the course and included in the full course tuition.

Submitting a registration form does not guarantee placement.

Class placement is confirmed once availability, suitability, and payment arrangements have been confirmed.

Registration is not complete until payment is received or payment arrangements have been confirmed.

Payment Notes

Full payment must be received one week before the course begins unless other arrangements have been              confirmed.

Accepted payment methods include cheque, cash, e-transfer, and credit card.
  • Cheques should be made payable to: Studio City North, Inc.
  • E-transfer payments may be sent to: [email protected]
  • Credit card payments are subject to a 3% processing fee.

All listed tuition prices will indicate whether tax is included, tax exempt, or subject to HST, where applicable.

Discounts, referral offers, sibling discounts, returning-student discounts, and promotional offers cannot be combined unless specifically approved by Thornhill Acting Studio.

Thornhill Acting Studio may recommend a different class, age group, level, or program if it is a better fit for the student.

By registering, parents/legal guardians acknowledge that they have reviewed the studio policies, including refund policies, make-up class policies, recording and privacy rules, safety and participation policies, and online/Zoom participation information.

Safety & Participation

Some acting, public speaking, and performance exercises may involve movement, partner work, staged reactions, staged interaction, or limited physical contact as part of the class curriculum.

No student is required to participate in any scene, exercise, or activity that makes them feel uncomfortable. Students and/or parents/legal guardians are expected to speak up before an exercise begins if there is any discomfort, concern, or restriction the instructor should know about.

Thornhill Acting Studio aims to keep classes safe, respectful, supportive, and age-appropriate for all students.

Parent Viewing Area

Parents are always welcome to stay and view classes during their child’s session.

Thornhill Acting Studio has a parent viewing area where parents may sit back, relax, enjoy a coffee, and quietly watch the class while it is taking place.

We ask that parents remain quiet during class time so students can stay focused, participate fully, and enjoy the training experience.

Thank you for helping us maintain a positive, respectful, and focused studio environment for all students.

Parent Observation & Acknowledgement

Parents and legal guardians are welcome to attend and observe any class in which their child is participating. This has been part of Christopher Healy’s studio policy for over 36 years.

This policy is designed to create transparency, comfort, and trust between families, students, and the instructor.

By registering, the student and parent/legal guardian acknowledge that acting and public speaking classes may include physical movement, performance exercises, staged interaction, and other class activities connected to the curriculum.

The student and parent/legal guardian agree to release Christopher Healy / Studio City North, Inc. from liability or responsibility for physical contact and/or injury that may result during classes, except where prohibited by law.

Recording & Privacy

Absolutely no recordings of any kind are permitted in the studio without permission from the instructor.

This includes recording any child, student, teacher, parent, class activity, rehearsal, performance, or private studio moment. Parents may record their own child only with the teacher’s permission.

Parents may not record or post any other student, child, parent, teacher, or studio activity, including on social media, without permission.

Recording or posting another child without permission may violate privacy rights and may create serious legal consequences.

Online / Zoom Participation

Classes are primarily offered in person. However, when appropriate, students may also participate online through Zoom in the same live class.

Online students receive the same instruction, coaching, feedback, and class structure as in-person students.

Over the past several years, Thornhill Acting Studio has developed strong online teaching methods to make sure students participating through Zoom remain involved, supported, and properly coached.

If government restrictions, public health requirements, weather emergencies, or similar circumstances require in-person classes to move online, classes will continue on Zoom.

If this occurs, no refunds will be issued because the course will continue online.

For additional information, please review our Refund Policy and
Make-Up Classes Policy

Private Coaching / Private Sessions

Private coaching sessions are scheduled separately from group classes and are based on instructor availability, the student’s needs, preparation required, and the type of coaching requested.

Private coaching may include acting for camera, audition preparation, public speaking, school presentations, interview preparation, voice-over, cartoon voices, confidence-building, self-tape support, monologue preparation, or other performance-related coaching.

Private coaching rates, payment terms, and scheduling may vary depending on the type of session, the student’s goals, preparation time, recording needs, and whether the coaching is booked as a single session, pay-by-session arrangement, or package.

Payment is required before the session begins unless another arrangement has been confirmed in advance.
Because private coaching time is reserved specifically for one student, missed sessions, late cancellations, and schedule changes may not be treated the same way as group-class make-up policies.

If a student needs to cancel or reschedule a private coaching session, the parent/legal guardian should provide as much notice as possible. Sessions cancelled with short notice may be charged in full or may count as one session from a package, depending on the circumstances and the amount of preparation or studio time reserved.

Private coaching packages, prepaid sessions, and specialized coaching arrangements are non-transferable unless approved by Thornhill Acting Studio.

Private coaching is customized to the student’s needs. Results may vary depending on the student’s age, experience, preparation, focus, attendance, practice, and readiness.

For audition coaching, agent preparation, self-tapes, monologues, or industry-related coaching, Christopher Healy may offer guidance based on his professional experience; however, no audition result, casting result, agency representation, booking, competition result, or professional outcome can be guaranteed.

Private coaching for kids and teens is available by approval and scheduling availability.

Free Trial

A free trial class may be available for new students, space permitting. Students are welcome to try a class before committing to the full course.

If the student does not continue after the trial class, there is no charge for that class. If the student continues, the trial class counts as Class 1 and is included in the full course tuition.

Free trial classes are subject to availability and instructor approval.

Make-Up Class Policy

Parents are encouraged to notify Thornhill Acting Studio in advance if their child will miss a class.

If a parent informs us before the course begins that a student will miss a scheduled class, we will do our best to arrange a make-up class where possible.

Once the course has started, make-up classes may be offered when space and scheduling allow. However, because class sizes are limited, make-up classes cannot be guaranteed.

If a make-up class is not available, the student will be helped to catch up as quickly as possible during their next regular class.

There are no refunds or credits for missed classes.

Make-up classes are not transferable to another course, another term, or a later date outside the course in which the class was missed.

If a class is missed, the make-up class must be taken during the same course term.
