Some parents have asked who will be facilitating the camps?

Christopher Healy
a 35 year veteran teacher specializing in public speaking, acting, media coaching and voice work will be teaching 100% of all the classes.

Christopher’s wife, Shirley, who is also an educator, will also be assisting along with some trusted assistants who are also advanced students of Christopher’s full-time acting program.

Your child will be safe and happy as they explore acting, drama, public speaking and cartoon voices to build confidence. Students will step into the exciting world of movie making!

Students try TV commercials, action movie scenes using green screen special effects, use puppets, work as director, camera operator and crew.

Students work in a team environment and present their final showcase on Fridays. Students learn to focus, be creative, build confidence, interact, and have playful fun!

COST is $325 tax exempt.

The camp runs Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and each day builds toward a final performance.

Here’s how the week is structured:

Monday
We begin with interactive exercises so I can assess the group and assign scene partners. Students also work on TV commercials and improvisation to build connection and confidence. In the afternoon, they receive their acting scenes and public speaking material.

Tuesday
Focus on public speaking using new material, while continuing to develop their acting scenes.

Wednesday (On-Set Action & Production Day)
Students are introduced to working in a full production-style environment through action–reaction scenes.

In the morning, the space is transformed into a themed set (e.g., alien world or secret installation), complete with lighting and sound effects. Students work as a team, moving through the space, staying aware of their surroundings, and reacting in real time as they navigate the environment and complete their objective.

In the afternoon, students move into filmed action work. One at a time, they perform choreographed action sequences (safe, guided movement) while learning how to:
  • Take direction on set
  • Use physical movement and expression effectively
  • Hit marks and react on cue
  • Work with camera and timing
Students also rotate through behind-the-scenes roles, supporting each other as part of a production team (hair, wardrobe, staging), giving them a full understanding of how a set operates.

This is a high-energy, engaging day that introduces them to the fundamentals of on-set performance and production.

Thursday
Full rehearsal day. Students rotate through acting scenes, public speaking, and group work as we build the final performance for Friday.

In the afternoon, they also take part in a fun group voice-over session tied to animation, where they perform together using voice and timing.

Friday
Performance day. We rehearse in the morning and present a final show (approximately 35–40 minutes) for parents at around 2:00 p.m.

After the performance, students receive their certificates and we wrap up the week.

Throughout the week, students work on:
• Acting for camera and stage
• Public speaking and presentation skills
• Confidence, voice, and physical expression
• Improvisation and quick thinking
• Working with scene partners and group dynamics
• On-set production skills (working with a director, camera, and structured scenes)

Overall, the goal is to build confidence, performance ability, and the skill to think and respond in the moment — all within a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

BE SURE TO READ OUR POLICY ON 'MAKE-UP" CLASSES

BEFORE THE COURSE BEGINS: if a parent tells me that they will be missing a day in advance of course starting then I can set up a make-up class where I can.  However, once the course begins and students don't turn up for whatever the reasons are and yet they want make-up classes, then i will do my best to make sure that i can provide you a make up class during the summer camps, however,  I have very limited space in classes and as such, I may not be able to provide that make-up class.  Having said that, what I will do is work extra with that student to help them catch up quickly in their next class session with the other students.
